CORE CHALLENGE
Helping new joiners build essential communication capabilities early in their Accenture journey, while also strengthening the quality of onboarding and candidate engagement experiences
The Challenge
Since 2020, Hoopla has partnered with Accenture in the UK as a training and onboarding partner for its new joiner programmes.
The business challenge was twofold. First, Accenture wanted early-career talent to develop strong communication skills from the beginning of their time in the organisation. For graduates, apprentices and interns entering a fast-moving professional services environment, that meant building confidence in how they communicate, present themselves, build their network and contribute effectively with clients.
Second, Accenture wanted its onboarding and early-career experiences to be best in class. New joiner programmes and candidate-facing events needed to feel engaging, relevant and in the tone of voice of the young participants. The aim was not just to welcome people into the business, but to help them feel equipped, connected and ready to make an impact from day one.
What Hoopla designed and delivered
Hoopla designed and continues to deliver a wide range of customised masterclasses and onboarding experiences for Accenture’s UK new joiner programmes.
Across graduate, apprentice and intern cohorts, we have delivered hundreds of sessions, both virtually and in person. These have included tailored workshops on:
communication skills
networking skills
presentation skills
the art and science of virtual communication
The sessions were designed to support people early in their Accenture journey, helping them build confidence and capability in the core communication behaviours that matter in professional services: contributing in meetings, connecting with colleagues, communicating ideas clearly, presenting with confidence and adapting to different contexts.
Alongside this learner-facing work, we have also partnered with Accenture’s new joiner team on storytelling skills and candidate engagement. That broadened the relationship beyond delivery into supporting the internal team responsible for creating strong new joiner experiences.
In addition, Hoopla was delighted to host Accenture Live, part of the organisation’s wider new joiner and candidate engagement activity. Accenture Live later went on to win a RAD Award in Events and Experiential.
